Aether have won its third consecutive annual contract to help the Irish EPA compile their national emissions inventories. Emma Salisbury and Richard Claxton will provide direct, in-country support to the EPA inventory team based in Monaghan and Dublin.

Aether has been commissioned to undertake an air quality assessment for a proposed development of approximately 9 houses in Uxbridge, London. The project will use DMRB to assess the nitrogen dioxide and particulate matter concentrations with and without the development and make recommendations as to how to mitigate the impact if required.

Last week the team at Aether were joined by some colleagues from the UK emissions inventory team at AEA for a tour of Didcot A power station, one of the UKs largest predominantly coal firing facilities at 2,000 MW (enough to provide electricity to 2 million homes!).

Chris Dore and Melanie Hobson have recently returned from Copenhagen, where they were involved in the Stage 3 centralised review of air quality pollutant emission inventories submitted under the Convention on Long Range Transboundary Air Pollution (LRTAP).

Aether staff have recently returned from the UNECE Task Force on Emission Inventories and Projections annual meeting in Bern, Switzerland. The meeting was attended by more than 100 emission inventory experts from Europe and the EECCA Countries.
