Aether Volunteering

23 June 2016

Aether consultants spent the day volunteering in a South East London school – Moatbridge. Their role involved clearing and preparing the school garden, helping the school move towards its longer term goal of more hands on environmental education through increased use of the garden

Andrea Rantell, the Assistant Head Teacher at Moatbridge School said:

“This is just a quick message to thank you and your colleagues for the invaluable work you did in our school grounds. As you know we are planning on using our garden as a means of providing hands on learning across the curriculum, with a particular focus on maths and science. All of our pupils have a statement of special educational needs for social, emotional and mental health difficulties and there is a growing body of research which demonstrates the positive impacts of being in green, open spaces. The work you did in our garden will therefore be of great benefit to our pupils as it will mean we can get them learning outdoors very soon.”

Aether will continue its volunteering role at the school throughout the coming months.
